I Want My "Buth'ay" Back!

For the last several weeks, Ty has been looking at his birthday party pictures from May. He makes sure he looks at everything, and I mean everything and everybody in the picture. He loves looking at the picture of his cake, and has even started talking about his cake for this year's birthday party. He has started saying, "I want my buth'ay back!" He is really starting to get upset about it. He just doesn't understand it will be here before we know it. Here are a few of his favorite pictures from his 2nd birthday party.

Where is Thumbkin?

I just had to share this video of Ty reading. Ty loves to read his books. If anyone reads to him and pauses, he finishes the words on the page word for word. It just blows my mind how children can remember. We're just hoping that memorization skill stays with him throughout his school years!! In the video, you'll hear him call someone Mr. Harold. He's referring to Mr. Harold Barrow that goes to our church. If there is ever a person or children on a page, he thinks we have to name them someone we know. So, that's why he's doing that. Although we haven't ever named this particular person Mr. Harold before, I guess when he looked at it this morning, Mr. Harold was the first person to enter his mind. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. (You'll need to go over to my playlist and turn the music off to hear the video.)

God Is So Good!

Ben's always kidding me about being on here, so here we go. Just a little bit about him....I have known Ben all of my life. (Well, almost!) His dad was pastor of our church for 12 years, and we went to school together. We dated for 7 years!!!! I know that sounds like an eternity to some of you, but we were very young when we first started dating. I was a senior and he was a sophomore in high school. Yes, I know, just mere babes!! We finally got married in June of 02. ONE of THE best days of my life! We have had several trials to overcome since that wonderful day, but God has been with us through them all. Without Him, we could not make it through anything. Ben works full-time at the National Guard Armory. One of those trials that we endured was his year-and-a-half deployment. Ben left in June of 06 (Ty had just turned 1) and returned this past October. To say that was a rough time is such an understatement. However, WE DID MAKE IT, with the help of our loving Lord and Saviour! It is such a wonderful feeling having my husband and best friend back home.
Ben is always trying to "get something done around the house." We don't have alot of "just sittin' around time." Something's going on ALL the time at our house. I know in the back of his mind he's thinking, "I wish she would quit coming up with all these "projects" for me." Ben is so wonderful about letting me do what I want to do with the house. He always seems to like my ideas. I don't know, maybe he just doesn't want to hurt my feelings. Right now we're wrapping up a new paint job for our bathroom. I'll post some pics when we're completely finished.
Ben is the type that has a million friends. Everyone Ben meets is a friend. He is just a real people-person, as all of you already know that. He takes great pride in his role as Ty's Daddy. Ty is the luckiest little boy to have him as his Daddy. I love to watch them together, when they don't even realize they're being watched. Although Ty Clark is definitely a "Mama's boy," he loves his Daddy too!! It's evident everyday when he hears that door knob turn. His little face just lights up and he squeals, "Daddy!!" (I have to admit Mama is just a little excited too!) Here are a few pics of my two guys.

The Clark men at "Grandaddy Walking Stick's".
Ty is already asking when can he go hunting!

The Clark men as twins! This was taken before we went to church Sunday. Ty was so excited to be dressed like his Daddy!! He thought he was a "big man."

I have truly been blessed!

Ty and Company

Ty and his Gram (my mother). Ty loves Gram and Grandaddy. This week he informed me he didn't want to live with Mommy and Daddy anymore. He wanted to live with Gram and Grandaddy.
Ty and cousin Allie. Ty is Allie's baby. She tends to him like she's a little mama.
This is Ty with little friend Lydia, who is more like a cousin. Lydia belongs to friends Kevin and Sunny. Lydia loved all over Ty at the homecoming game. If Sunny got her out of Ty's lap, she would cry to go back to him. She was just too cute.
This is Ty with his Nana, who keeps him every day, cousin Amy, Lydia, and cousin Allie. Ty absolutely loves his Nana. Many days he cries to stay with her when I pick him up. It's just a relief to know he loves who he's with everyday. Thank you, Nana, for loving Ty like your own.
The famous camera smile again.

What a Mess!

As everyone knows, we have a very rambunctious little 2 year old. Ty is constanlty "getting in to something." He is also a little clown. He loves to see what funny thing he can come up with. Never a dull moment in the Clark household...just a few shots of, well...Ty just being Ty. What did I ever do before this little stinker entered this world?
Ty likes to dress up like Daddy and say "I going to work."
Ty got skates from Aunt Ang for his birthday and he just loves them. He got them out last week and was trying to stand up. He was hilarious. He would be about to fall and he would just go down into a split. If we turned the video in, I'm sure we could win on America's Funniest Videos. He is getting better though. As you can see, it doesn't bother him a bit to be "in the buff."
Ty attempting to make his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He told me that's what he wanted for supper and before I could get it made, he had the tops off and was "digging in." What kind of Mother would give their son a knife? My only saving grace is that at least it's just a butter knife.
Looks like he's got the hang of it.
Here Ty is in our bathroom with powder all over him from head to toe. At first I just thought, "Oh no, another mess to clean up." But then, after looking at that face, I just had to grab the camera. This is a new look he does for the camera now. He cocks his head over to the side and gives me that sweet little innocent smile. What else could I do?

Mmm Mmm Good--

Gram brought Ty some Orange Cream Pops last week when he wasn't feeling well. They did the trick! Thanks Gram!

What's For Dinner?

Ty decided on his own tonight that he would cook supper. He got into the freezer and got just about everything he could get his hands on; and then put it on top of the island. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "I cookin, Mama." Ty's menu consisted of pork chops, hamburgers, okra, shrimp, and don't forget the orange dream popsicle. I think I've been training this little boy well....Already trying to help his Mama cook!

Well...here goes nothing!

I, too, can't believe that I'm actually doing this. (Shonna, I completely know what you're talking about.) How in the world will I ever find the time to do this? I have to admit that the last month I've gotten somewhat addicted to reading our friends' blogs. The pictures of all the families are so sweet and it just made me want to be able to share some of my own pictures of my precious family. Maybe tomorrow I can actually add some of our Christmas pictures!!
